| Šimuni
is a small fishermen village
located at the southwest side
of the island, halfway between
the towns of Novalja (12 km)
and City of Pag (13 km), only
15 minutes drive from Žigljen
ferry port.
Šimuni consists
of three genuine bays; in the
north bay there is the ACI Marina
Šimuni, with 150 berths in the
sea and 30 on the coast, offering
a safe shelter and anchorage
to the vessels. In the marina
there is a slip for lowering
boats up to 8 m long, as well
as a crane for lifting vessels
up to 15 tons of weight.
The central bay is intended
for fishermen's boats to which
it serves as a harbour, but
also as a place where freshly
caught fish is being sold.
In the third, south bay there
is a gravel beach 2 km long,
offering pleasures to many tourists,
such as; lying in the sun on
the hot rocks, napping in the
shade of a pine forest with
the crickets song, ideal winds
for surfing, crystal clear sea
for diving and deep-fishing,
water skiing area, hidden areas
ideal for nudists.
Nearby is the
second largest motor camp on
the Island of Pag Auto-camp
Šimuni. Camp has a small sport
centre (sand volleyball, tennis),
a shop, a restaurant, a gas
filling facility, and a diving
centre.
Šimuni is not
a crowded place and is ideal
for walking, rolling and bike
riding. We are at an ideal spot
for one- or several-day excursions;
such as those to the old towns
(Senj-40 km, Zadar - 50 km,
Šibenik - 140 km, Split - 220
km) , and national parks (Kornati
islands - 60 km, Starigrad Paklenica
- 70 km, Krka waterfalls - 150
km, Plitvice lakes - 190 km).
